Planning the perfect outdoor entertaining environment has never been easier, with the BBQ Galore – At Home AR app. Developed by INHAABIT for Australian outdoor specialist, Barbeques Galore, BBQ Galore – At Home lets you try over 100 popular barbeques and outdoor furniture in your home, with Augmented Reality.
“Having a barbeque in your backyard is almost part of Australia’s DNA,” says Jordan Yim, Director of INHAABIT with a smile. “Since BBQs are generally large items, the BBQ Galore – At Home app revolutionises the purchase process for customers, making it easy for them to try popular barbeques in their backyard, see how they fit and combine them with outdoor furniture arrangements.”
Barbeques Galore are one of Australia’s most well-known retail franchises and INHAABIT were particularly excited about the project, based on that there was no existing way for customers to easily understand the scale and suitability of barbeques and related products, directly in their home. Being able to quickly see different barbeques and outdoor furniture makes the buying process much more streamlined, particularly when shopping online.
INHAABIT’s design team spent significant time ensuring each barbeque was created realistically, from the distinctive shine on the metal surfaces to the organic texture of the Kamado Joe smokers.
“BBQ Galore – At Home Augmented Reality products were meticulously created to match the real items,” says Jason Yim, INHAABIT’s Director of Marketing. “It’s incredible how realistic the experience is with Augmented Reality. The barbeques look like they’re in front of you.”
From a business perspective, the BBQ Galore – At Home app was developed as a customer-centric experience that enables customers to try before they buy. “It’s about empowering the customer to make a positive buying decision,” says Luke Naish, CEO of Barbeques Galore. “By giving customers the best way possible to see our products within their home environment, we are helping them make the best purchase when they come instore.”
Alongside barbeques, BBQ Galore – At Home features outdoor kitchens, lounges and dining sets, with more products on the way from Barbeques Galore’s extensive catalogue. To display the large outdoor collections, INHAABIT created advanced collection placement technology, which allows customers to visualise a set of chairs, tables and lounge suites with a single tap on their mobile.
